Are these tools really free?
Yes — every tool on StopwatchHQ is free, with no account, no download and no usage limits. The site is supported by unobtrusive ads.
How accurate is the stopwatch?
The stopwatch measures elapsed time from your device's system clock rather than counting ticks, so it stays accurate to within a hundredth of a second even if your browser throttles background tabs.
Do the timers work on my phone?
Yes. Every page is built mobile-first and works in any modern browser — Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac or Linux. Fullscreen mode works on phones and tablets too.
Do I need to install anything or create an account?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser. Your settings (like pomodoro lengths) are stored only on your own device.
What happens if I close the tab?
Timers run only while the page is open — nothing is sent to a server. If you close the tab, the stopwatch or timer stops and resets.
Why five tools instead of one?
Every timing job is slightly different. A stopwatch measures how long something took. A countdown timer alerts you when a set time is up. A pomodoro timer strings work and break intervals into a focus session. An interval timer alternates work and rest for workouts. And a time tracker logs what each block of your day was for, exportable to CSV. Rather than burying five different use cases behind one cluttered interface, each tool gets its own clean page.
Built for classrooms, kitchens and gyms
Every tool has a fullscreen mode so the display is readable from across the room, keyboard shortcuts so you never hunt for a button mid-exercise, and a dark theme by default with a light option — because timers are often used in dim rooms, classrooms and studios.
